God. What a day. I don't know how I get myself into this kind of mess but I keep doing it.
Just talented, I guess. Arg, and I hurt - all over. My elbow is all scuffed up and my shoulder is *killing* me. I swear to God the IT/programming dude has been out to get me all.day.
It all started this morning with a phone call from my boss. He tells me I had to go pick up this programmer and bring him into work - I tried to get out of it because I had a billion things I needed to/rather be doing but he gave me some grief so I stopped whinging and decided it was a simple enough task and drove across town to pick this guy up. When I got to the guy's place, he's faffing about and taking ages and then his computer blows up and all hell breaks loose. All the traffic lights went mental - talk about "short phasing", a car nearly hit me at an intersection, I hit a fire hydrant and this fountain of water erupted into the air.
I called my boss to let him know what was happening then next thing you know my phone stops working, dunno if it was the battery or if the network went down. Trying to get across town was a nightmare, the programmer guy was moaning about being hungry every five minutes, cars are going every which-way, there's frickin' helicopters all over the shop and then the power went out. The IT guy called me - how he managed to get through on my phone when no one else could, god only knows - but he's whining about me taking too long to get the programmer back to work. I swear the veins in the IT guys head are gonna burst one day he gets so upset about everything all the time - no patience, that's his trouble - seems to think the whole world revolves around the IT department and it's all about what *he* wants. arg!
Man I tell you, I'm too old for this shit - at one stage a bloody harrier jet or some-such was trying to shoot me but he was such a n00b he kept missing. Fucked up the bridge I was on pretty bad though, I hope I don't have to pay for the damages out of my own pocket.
But alls well that ends well, and I finally got the guy to where he was going - the uppity IT guy got his comeuppance and taken down a peg or two so I'll have no more problems with him.
