Comments: Gnocchi Tuesday

Can't wait to try this. We had Gnocchi for the first time in aaaages last week, and loved it. But we've never actually made it by hand ;)

I had it in my head gnocchi was difficult but when I saw this video I realised it was completely doable.

I couldn't find a mouli to purchase, but did find a little hand-held food mill which did the trick beautifully - took no time at all to grind thru the cooked potatoes. The potatoes peeled really easily once cooked and were easy to find at the store.

We did find that the gnocchi we left in the pan and nibbled on as we cleaned up tasted better, and a bit firmer, so we thought we would let them sit a little longer before serving next time.

We'll try pumpkin gnocchi next time I think.. or sweet potato maybe. This definitely isn't our only attempt at the stuff, it needs perfecting!

We sauteed onion, garlic, mushrooms and tomatoes with our gnocchi, and served it with a drizzle of olive oil, cheese and basil.

I think this is a lovely meal to make with someone you love too - fun to cook together.
