suckfull!
It wasn't horrible, it just wasn't all that good. In saying that though, Renee Geyer singing Eminem's Go To Sleep was worth the price of admission. It was authentic, powerful: she absolutely owned that song. Fantastic!
Posted by Michelle at July 14, 2007 12:01 AMThat's a pretty thorough walkthrough of yours. If I get bored during a show there's little chance of me remembering enough to recount the plot to someone afterwards ;)
Posted by Mike at July 14, 2007 1:56 PMThat is an absolutely brilliant review - you should be theatre critic for The Age or something *s*
Posted by fishboy at July 14, 2007 3:53 PMoh... so that's what it was about!
And what was prince charming/brother/next-door-neighbour/chicken-abatoir-worker wearing around his waist under the chicken suit? It looked like someone had given him a wedgie with a sanitary napkin belt.
Posted by annadee at July 15, 2007 1:57 PMMike: it was a bit like a train wreck in that I couldn't look away so that helped me remember a lot of the details - in saying that, there's a heck of a lot I forgot.
Fishboy: Nah. Yeh. Yeh, nah. <= imagine reviews like that - might make life a whole lot easier.
Annadee: I didn't notice anything around his waist.. I was too distracted by the weird denim of his jeans, the gleeful clapping and squealing of his fan club along the row from me and his unnatural hip movements not to mention the flurry of white feathers when he left the stage that was obviously a symptom of mange.
So maybe it wasn't just Fox and me who found the play disappointing and confusing?
Posted by Michelle at July 16, 2007 12:27 AMNo you weren't alone. I went with 3 others and we found it embarrassing and laughable. There was a squealing fan club down the front but I noticed my neighbours weren't clapping. I found a more favourable review over here. But I don't think it's worthy of being deconstructed on such an academic level.
